Think of this as the Static V for colder months. It has the same V-chamber layout but adds Klymit's synthetic insulation and cuts weight compared with the heavier Static V models.
Tier: budget-to-mid. A good step up for beginners.
What changes from the standard Static V
- Insulation. The chambers are filled with Klymalite synthetic insulation, and Klymit markets the pad as four-season.
- Side rails. Klymit says the dynamic rails gently keep you centered.
- Weight. Amazon lists about 1.3 lb, heavier than premium air pads but reasonable for the price tier.
Inflation is the same 10–15 breaths, and the valve dumps air quickly for packing.
Reality check
Klymit calls it four-season, but think hard before sleeping on snow with any single air pad in this price range. Many winter campers add a closed-cell foam pad underneath regardless. The bigger worry is a puncture on a cold night, so carry the patch kit.
