Shelter

- Only if you sleep in a hammock.

- Pick a rating ~10°F below the expected low. Quilts suit ultralight.
- R-value 4+ for fall and shoulder seasons.
- Ultralight option: stuff sack with your puffy.
Pack
- Beginners: 55–65 L with a frame. Ultralight: 40–50 L.
Kitchen / Cooking
- A 100 g canister covers ~2–3 days for one person boiling water.
- Ultralight: drink from the pot.
Water
- A few tablets weigh almost nothing.

- Check local rules; some areas require canisters.
