Why each piece made the cut
Shelter — Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL 2. A semi-freestanding ultralight two-person tent: lighter than a fully freestanding design while still easy to pitch.
Sleep — Therm-a-Rest Vesper 20F Quilt + NEMO Tensor All-Season. A true ultralight down quilt paired with a light, warm pad. Quilts save weight by skipping the insulation you'd crush underneath you anyway, and the Tensor handles warmth from below.
