Already own a Jetboil and want real coffee at camp? Jetboil sells its silicone press on its own, so you don't need to buy a whole Java kit.
Tier: budget accessory.
Sizing matters
Jetboil makes the silicone press in more than one size. This listing is the Grande, made for Jetboil's larger, wider cups (1,000 ml per the listing). The regular press is the one Jetboil lists for Flash, Zip, and other 1 L tall or 0.8 L cups. Check Jetboil's compatibility chart for your cup before you buy.
How it works
The press sits in your cup. The silicone keeps it light and lets it pack inside the cup. Push it down after the coffee steeps, then pour. The stem and basket come apart for storage.
Worth it?
If you drink coffee every morning on trail and don't like instant, yes. If you're fine with instant sticks, skip it. The Flash Java bundles a press with a Flash if you don't have a Jetboil yet.
Remember to pack out the used grounds.
