Some people carry a stove for dinner. Others carry one mostly for the first cup of coffee. The Flash Java is built for that second group: it's the Flash fast-boil system with Jetboil's coffee press packed in the box.
Tier: premium for a boil-only system, since you're paying for the press too.
What's in the box
The 2025 Flash 1.0L burner and cup, plus a coffee press that fits the cup. Jetboil lists the system at 13.9 oz (394 g). The rest matches the standard Flash: a 1.0 L cup with cozy, turn-and-click ignition, and a quoted boil time of 120 seconds per 0.5 L (Jetboil's figure, averaged over a JetPower can). Fuel is sold separately.
Who it's for
- Coffee drinkers who want real ground coffee at camp, not instant
- Pairs or solo hikers who brew a liter at once and share
- Anyone who was going to buy the press separately anyway
Things to know
- Grounds are messy on trail. You'll need to pack out the used grounds. Carry a zip bag for them.
- You add a little weight and fiddle compared with instant coffee sticks.
- Like the Flash, it doesn't simmer well. It's a water heater first.
Alternatives
If you're happy with instant coffee, buy the plain Flash instead. If you already own a Jetboil, Jetboil also sells its coffee press on its own. Check that the size fits your cup.
